National Signing Day is here, and with it will come the flood of rumors. The day has a fluidity to it that is really like no other in college football. There's no actual football game being played, so the eyes and ears of the football fanatics are tuned into the whims of 18 year old high school seniors. As such, the day can be pretty hectic and difficult to follow if you don't have the time to devote the entire day to following it. We'll have a live chat going to appease those folks who want to be immersed in the rumors of the day. But if you're just looking for a place where you can check in from time to time and get the bare bones facts, then this is the article for you.
After the jump will be the list of players who have officially signed with Alabama, the list of players who have yet to sign but are committed, and the list of guys who have yet to announce their decision. This post will be updated throughout the day any time that a player officially signs or makes his official announcement.
It's pretty simple...
- Once you see a guy's name go in bold under the "OFFICIALLY SIGNED" list, that means that his official letter of intent has been signed and faxed to the University of Alabama.
- If he is still under the "COMMITTED" list, then that means that Bama is waiting on his paperwork to arrive. Bama does have eight players who are already enrolled, but they still must sign a letter of intent. The players who are already enrolled will be identified as enrolled.
- If he is listed under the "ANNOUNCEMENT TO COME" list, that means he will be making an announcement later in the day, and we will have the time listed that he is expected to announce.
- Alabama does have three players from the class of 2009 that deferred enrollment until January of 2010 - Darius McKeller, Anthony Orr, and Petey Smith. These players are enrolled in class at Alabama and do not have to sign another letter of intent. They are already members of the football team.
