I've started epic posts on "oversigning" half a dozen times now. Maybe more. There's so many people so self-righteously angry about it all over the internet. Kevin Scarbinsky joined that drumbeat today - once again Scarbinsky is a couple of weeks behind the rest of the world in his internet trolling. I expect a column by Clay Travis about it any day now.
Nick Saban is everybody's favorite oversigning whipping boy. It's a role he's no doubt accustomed to - he's been the internet's number two villian (just behind Hitler) since he told reporters he wasn't leaving the Dolphins for Alabama. But here's the thing. There's really nothing to see here. No one has done anything wrong. Let's take a closer look at the rules and what Alabama has done.no comments
Over the next few weeks, we'll be looking in-depth at the players that Alabama is able to sign on Wednesday. A few weeks back, nxojkt gave you a snapshot of the eight players who enrolled this spring. http://bamasportsreport.com/2011-articles/january/bama-welcomes-eight-new-players.html
Bama was able to bring in one more player late when BJ Scott transferred out of the program. All-everything back Demetrius "Dee" Hart".

Everyone is alive and well here at the Bama Sports Report. Yes, we've done a tremendously terrible job of posting lately. Guilty. We are actually sorry about that. I mean it.
We've been busy with our jobs, our lives, our drinking... you name it. But this week is special in Alabama. Wednesday is National Signing Day. And, of course, we'll be here to chat with you guys about it all day. You can look for us to start pre-dawn and not stop until the last fax has been posted on the "Fax Cam". We'll answer questions, ask questions - generally celebrate our recruiting victories and mourn our losses.
And, I swear that sometime in the not-so-distant future, we'll write something about the job Anthony Grant has been doing. Or about "oversigning". Or about Bama's golf teams (men and women) both being ranked top 5. In the meantime, though, get ready for another epic signing day discussion here on the Bama Sports Report.

With the spring semester beginning at the University of Alabama, the Tide football team welcomes eight early enrollees. Two of these guys were actually a part of last year's class and chose to defer enrollment until this semester, while the other six are members of the 2011 signing class. Each of these eight players will be able to participate in spring practice and all summer activities.
Several media outlets are reporting that Alabama Assistant Head Coach for Offense and Offensive Line Coach Joe Pendry has informed Nick Saban that he intends to retire. It also looks like Coach Saban may already have someone in place to step into Pendry's role as offensive line coach.
The University of Alabama has scheduled a press conference on Friday where it is expected that Marcell Dareus, Julio Jones, and Mark Ingram will declare their eligibility for the NFL Draft.
In the span of a single day, Alabama lost defensive line coach Bo Davis, and replaced him with Chris Rumph. Nick Saban clearly saw this move coming, and had his eye on Rumph. He has been very deliberate in the past in replacing coaches, but this one happened with lightning speed.
Rumph heads to Tuscaloosa after coaching at Clemson for the last three years. He played at South Carolina, and has coached at both Memphis and Clemson - where he focused on the defensive ends. He is known as a strong recruiter, and will likely jump head first into the recruitment of South Carolina native Jadaveon Clowney, considered by most to be the top player in the nation.
There may be more coaching moves coming in the next few days, and we'll have some reports to wrap up the 2010 season soon. The bad thing about making the bowl trip is having to go back to work when you get home.no comments
We took a little break from things after the disappointing loss last Friday, but as the Tide's basketball season gets into full throttle, and the Tide football team begins bowl practices, we are back to give you our thoughts on all things related to Bama sports.
